Natalie and Russell's wedding at Haxey and Epworth

Natalie and Russell were married on 21st August 2011 at St Nicholas' Church in Haxey and then had their reception in the marquee on Epworth Show Ground. The church is beautiful and gave us some stunning shots of them saying their vows. The weather held until the evening by which time everyone was partying to the live band in the marquee - and a great time appeared to be had by all. Here are my super seven of the day:

Simon and Sally's wedding at Owston Hall Hotel

Dominic and I had the pleasure of joining Simon and Sally at the beautiful Owston Hall Hotel for their civil ceremony and reception. The grounds are truely stunning and attached to a golf course - so Simon and Sally had to have a drive of a golf buggy! Their day was full of both emotion and fun. here are my super seven from the day as a sneak peak!

David and Victoria's beautiful garden wedding

Saturday 24th July 2011 was a cloudy but warm and dry day - just perfect for David and Victoria's wedding, held in the grounds of Vik's parent's farm. I think it was one of the most fun-filled days we have had the pleasure of being part of - with the vicar even giving rides to guests on his Honda Goldwing motorbike! Vicky and Dominic's Hatfield Wedding

Sunday 17th July 2011 saw us photographing Vicky and Dominic's wedding at the beautiful St Lawrence Church in Hatfield with their reception at the equally stunning Mount Pleasant Hotel, Doncaster. The weather threatened rain all day and other than a few spots when Vicky arrived at the Church - we were really lucky and it held off until we had finished our photos! Victoria and David's pre-wedding Shoot

Last Sunday I picked possibly the hottest day to do Race for Life in Doncaster - but the weather was perfect in the afternoon for Victoria and David's pre-wedding shoot on her parent's farm on the outskirts of Leeds.

The farm is truely picture perfect, surrounded by stunning countryside with beautifully kept gardens and a fish pond with the biggest Koi Carp I have ever seen! Dom and I are really looking forwards to shooting the wedding there now.

New album and 2012 prices

Dom and I have been hard at work and we have just finalised our 2012 pricelists. We have tried to make them simpler and targetted them more towards what couples have been asking for - hopefully I will upload full details over the weekend. We are both very excited to announce that we will shortly be offering a new album as well! We are just awaiting samples and so will upload pictures and update the site as soon as we can.

We're back! And answerphone problems :(

Dom and I are back from Turkey and suitably relaxed but straight back to work. This weekend we have a pre-wedding shoot booked with Victoria and David on a farm in Leeds. The rain put this off from a couple of weeks ago and we are really looking forwards to meeting with Vik and Dave again!

Unfortunately while we were away our answerphone stopped working. It is all sorted now but if anyone tried to leave a message we have not got it - therefore please accept our apologies and feel free to drop us an email or call.

Neil and Trish's sunny Cleethorpes wedding

21st May 2011 saw us visiting Cleethorpes for the beautiful wedding of Neil and Trish. The got married at the quaint Old Clee Church with a reception at The Cromwell Banquetting Suite. It was a beautiful sunny day and the bride looked absolutely stunning. Here are my Super Seven for you to make your own minds up!

Kim and Darren's stunning sunny wedding at St Wilfred's Church, Cantley, followed by Mount Pleasant Hotel

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing Kim and Darren's wedding at St Wilfred's Church in Cantley, followed by a reception at Mount Pleasant Hotel. The weather was beautifully sunny, if not a little windy with Kim arriving in a beautiful horse drawn carriage to the church. A special mention should be made of the church cat, who part way through the ceremony chose to sit on the back of Kim's dress - fortunately no dirty paw prints were left and Kim saw the funny side! Kevin and Debbie's Wedding - Regent Hotel Doncaster

As promised folks - some sample shots from Kevin and Debbie's wedding at the Regent Hotel, Doncaster. The weather didn't hold but the guests bravly endured the rain for the group shots - and Dom enjoyed himself so much he opted to stay for the night-time celebrations! It was a fabulous relaxed and fun filled day that everyone seemed to enjoy.

A hectic winter time

Well apologies to all for not updating much over winter - Dom and I have had a very hectic time.

We have nearly finished our meeting room at home, and the latest addition is a large viewing tv for showing wedding photos to couples (and for Dom to play ps3 on the odd times he gets moments to himself). Dom has also been busy in the studio with commercial contracts.

Our wedding year starts in earnest tomorrow with the first wedding of the year at The Regent Hotel - one of our favourite venues in Doncaster with fab friendly staff - I just hope the weather holds.

Carol and Michael's Wedding at the Grand St Leger Hotel

Carol and Michael had a glamourous gold themed wedding on Friday 27th August 2010 at the beautiful Grand St Leger Hotel. Carol did all the flowers herself but was surprisingly calm, and her mum made the stunning cake. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly (very good at finding my lost lens cap twice!) and helped everything to run smoothly. Carol was fashionably late, and all their guests appeared to have an amazing time, the disco floor was small but very packed! These are my favourite shots from the day with all the photos now uploaded to their gallery...

Jennifer and Michael

Auguts and September are proving to be our busiest months yet, starting with the fun-filled wedding of Michael and Jennifer. We were back at Thorne Methodist Church, and took advntage of the stunning park in Thorne before moving to a relaxed reception at The Canal Tavern, a short walk from the park.

Jennifer and Michael both looked stunning and their guests were certainly up for lots of fun. Here are our favourite pictures from the day.

Peter and Adele's Wedding

Saturday 17th July 2010 saw the beautiful wedding of Peter and Adele at Thorne Methodist Church with a reception at the Mount Pleasant Hotel near Doncaster. The weather in the morning looked a bit dodgy but it stayed dry and we even saw the sun on a couple of occasions - a good job with their Vintage Model T Ford wedding car. The gardens at Mount Pleasant are truely stunning with plenty of areas for photographic opportunities, the food was gorgeous and the speeches were excellent. We stayed until the evening ceremony covering the first dance and a fun game rolling lemons that got nearly everyone on the dance floor - old and young. A truely memorable fun day. Curito Storybook Albums are here!

Slatelands Photography are proud to announce a new wedding album to our range of stunning albums. The new Curito Storybook Album comes in 2 sizes, Classic which is 21cm (8.25") by 29cm (11.5") portrait style and Grande, which is 29cm by 29 cm (11.5" square). The album shown here is the Curito Grande.

Our new album offers amazing value for money, and utilises the same bespoke design layout, personally styled using your individual chosen photographs, as our high quality Bellissimo Albums.

The album comes with a padded photocover and is bookbound using 500grams/m2 rigid sheets (approx. 1mm thick). The pages open 180 degrees laying completely flat to allow full panoramic pictures to be included.

The albums come with 50 spreads/ 25 pages allowing a high number of images to be shown in a contemporary style.

We have had a busy week with weddings and its not over yet! It started with a fab but blustery pre-wedding shoot at Clumber Park on Sunday morning with Oliver, Jessica and their gorgeous son Josh.... keep checking back for images soon!

We have had loads of wedding enquiries for the next 2 years for many venues and areas including Mount Pleasant Hotel near Doncaster, Aston Hall in Sheffield, Owston Hall Hotel at Doncaster, Old Clee Church in Grimsby and the Cromwell Banquetting Suite in Cleethorpes, The Crown Hotel in Bawtry, St Mary's Church in Tickhill and Hellaby Hall Hotel Rotherham, Pastures Lodge at Mexborough and The Punch Bowl Inn at Thorne. Should make for a hectic and fun time.

And then tomorrow we have Adele and Peter's wedding at Thorne Methodist Church followed by Mount Pleasant Hotel near Doncaster. I hope the wind drops a little as they are planning a Model T Ford for their wedding car!

New sample album

For the last couple of weeks I've been editing up a new sample storybook album. I'll be uploading the full album to the site shortly, but here are a few of my favourite pages...

The full album can be viewed by selecting here. The albums are all designed individually by me and if you decide to have one, we use your chosen pictures and you get full approval before it goes to print. We want everyone be completely happy and love their album!

Sarah and Shane's Wedding

What a difference a week can make. June 4th turned out to be what I think was the sunniest day of the year so far. Perfect weather for Sarah and Shane (if not incredibly warm), but very difficult for photographs.

However, they did have one of the nicest (photograph friendly)

vicars who allowed us to take as many shots as we needed.

Sarah and Shane both looked stunning and the little ones all looked very cute.

Matthew and Marie's Wedding

We had the pleasure of photographing Matthew and Marie's wedding last Saturday. Unfortunatley the weather didn't hold and we had light rain for most of the day, but Matthew, Marie and the guests were willing to brave the the stunning park across the road from the venue. The wedding was a beautiful civil ceremony held at the Regent Hotel in Doncaster and the staff there did a fantastic job ensuring things ran completely smoothly. Studio couple shoot - Amanda and Stan

Dominic had the pleasure of doing a studio shoot with Amanda and Stan. The images were very important to both of them as Stan was due to return to Afghanistan the following day. They had a lot of fun at Westgate Studios, a commercial photography studio near Nottingham. Here are a few samples from the day.

Hannah and James - Pre-wedding Shoot

We met with Hannah and James on a cool sunday morning at Clumber Park. The weather was a bit dodgy but we still managed to get some lovely shots of the two of them. Clumber is a stunning area with loads of areas to get some dramatic backgrounds, its just a shame that we were about a week to early for the bluebells to be in full bloom!

Sarah and Shane Pre-Wedding

Sunday morning we had a fun pre-wedding shoot with Sarah and Shane. They are due to get married shortly at St Mary's Church in Stainforth and their reception is at Hatfields in Doncaster which has a lovely private garden for the use of the function room. Sarah is the function room manager and therefore we got to shoot in private with just the 2 of them and had great fun.

Here are a few sample shots from the shoot. I can't wait to photograph their wedding day as it sounds like it will be a fun-filled day. Sarah and Shane are a gorgeous couple and obviously very natural and happy with each other.

Hello and welcome to our new feature for 2010 - our wedding blog. Here Dominic and I will keep you up to date with images from our latest weddings and other shoots as well as posts about Slatelands Photography and what we are up to at the moment.

We will be updating when we can and using it to give sneak previews of the latest photographs, albums and other products that Slatelands Photography offer.
